The birth of an idea. The legend of the BrightYards brand…

The legend of a brand is its living history, the apple that fell on the founder’s head, the story of the brand’s birth, its core idea and its values. It’s important… That’s why we asked BrightYards founder Oleksiy Bobrov how it all began…

“The idea of creating outdoor furniture came to me several years ago. I love designer items that combine durability, design, technology and a reasonable price. At that time I was looking for outdoor furniture for my home. I love conceptual style and pay more attention to form than color or texture. I am attracted to parametric modern design in architecture, smooth forms. I see a sense, a message and a connection to nature in them. Putting parametric design ideas into small forms like furniture is not an easy task. I tried to find furniture in this style on the market. But they are usually designer pieces made in small batches. Therefore, the price for these products can be very high. I saw an open niche in the field of designer outdoor furniture. My idea was to combine original design and good quality at a reasonable price. I wanted to make this product accessible to a wide range of consumers. I also believe that such a combination can be interesting for the hotel and restaurant business, which has outdoor spaces such as terraces, lounge areas, park areas and pools. And that is how the idea of BrightYards was born.

And that is how the idea of BrightYards was born. You might ask, why BrightYards? It wasn’t an easy name to come up with. If you have children, you’ll understand how difficult and important it is to find just the right name. It should reflect the essence of the brand, its idea. At the same time, it should be easy for potential customers to understand. To speak the same language as they do. 
ParametricGarden, GardenLook, DressYard, HomYYard, YardVision… These are just some of the options we considered. These were very heated discussions. By that time, the team was already forming within the company. Everyone wanted to put their vision and feel into the name. BrightYards won. This name is about how our furniture will make your garden, terrace or patio bright, original and modern.

The first step was to define the product line and develop the design. After several attempts to work with different design studios, we decided to work with a Ukrainian design company. The design process is always complex and time-consuming, especially when it comes to designing the first prototypes of a new brand. It took us over a year. We were inspired by the idea of parametric design, smooth natural lines and shapes. It was from this concept that our first product, the Y.Cocoon patio sofa, was born. It was followed by the tent of original shape Y.Canopy, the comfortable lounge set Y.Lounge and the elegant dining set Y.Dinner. All BrightYards sets complement and work together. All you need is a well-mown lawn and BrightYards furniture to create a harmonious outdoor space for your home. That’s the basic concept behind our furniture.”
